Getting There

Bus
From Nara Park, walk to the nearest bus stop called Nara Koen Mae. Take the Kintetsu Bus bound for Kyoto (Kyo-eki) and get off at the Ginkakuji (Silver Pavilion) stop. The journey will take approximately 50 minutes. Once you get off the bus, walk straight ahead for about 5 minutes until you reach the entrance of Higashiyama Jisho-ji (Ginkaku-ji).

Train and Bus
From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line to Kyoto Station (approximately 45 minutes). At Kyoto Station, transfer to the city bus #100 or #206 towards Ginkakuji. Get off at the Ginkakuji-michi bus stop. The temple will be a short walk from there, taking about 10 minutes. Follow the signs that direct you to Ginkaku-ji.

Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Nara. Just tell the driver 'Ginkaku-ji' or show them the address: 2 Ginkakujicho, Sakyo Ward, Kyoto. The trip will take about 40 minutes, depending on traffic.

Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and want to experience more of the scenery, you can walk from Nara to Higashiyama Jisho-ji (Ginkaku-ji). This is a long trek, roughly 15 kilometers, and will take you about 3 to 4 hours. Follow the signs towards Kyoto, making your way through the scenic route, and be sure to take breaks along the way to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
