Walking
From Kintetsu Nara Station, walk east through Nara Park for approximately 30 minutes. Pass Kofuku-ji Temple and the Nara National Museum along the way. The path to Kasuga Taisha is lined with stone lanterns. From JR Nara Station, the walk is approximately 45 minutes. Follow the path through Nara Park, enjoying the sights and deer. No costs are associated with walking.
Public Transport
From either Kintetsu Nara Station or JR Nara Station, take a Nara Kotsu bus to the Kasuga Taisha Honden bus stop. Buses depart frequently. The fare is approximately ¥250. Alternatively, take the City Loop Bus (clockwise) to the 'Kasugataisha Omotesando' stop. This route involves a 10-minute walk to the Main Sanctuary via the Botanical Garden.
Taxi
Taxis are available at both Kintetsu Nara Station and JR Nara Station. A taxi ride to Kasuga Taisha takes approximately 5-10 minutes. The estimated fare from JR Nara Station is ¥1700-¥2100.
