Public Transport
From Kyoto Station, take the JR Bus Takao/Keihoku Line (高雄・京北線) to Toganoo (栂ノ尾) bus stop. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes and costs ¥500. Alternatively, take Kyoto City Bus #8 from Shijo Station to the Takao bus stop, followed by a 15-minute walk. Note that the Kyoto City Bus one-day pass does not fully cover the fare. From the Toganoo bus stop, it is a 5-10 minute walk to the temple entrance.
Taxi
A taxi from Kyoto Station to Kozan-ji takes approximately 16 minutes and costs between ¥5000 and ¥6500. Several taxi companies operate in Kyoto, including Miyako Taxi, Kyoto MK, and Hankyu Taxi. Be aware that traffic can be heavy, especially during the autumn foliage season.
