The Umeda Sky Building, also known as New Umeda City, is one of Osaka's most recognizable landmarks. Completed in 1993, this 173-meter-tall structure consists of two 40-story towers connected at the top by the Floating Garden Observatory. Designed by architect Hiroshi Hara, the building was initially envisioned as a complex of four interconnected towers, but economic conditions led to the construction of just two.The Floating Garden Observatory offers 360-degree panoramic views of Osaka. Visitors can enjoy both indoor and open-air viewing platforms. The observatory is reached by taking an elevator to the 35th floor and then transferring to a glass-enclosed escalator that spans between the two towers.
