Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From Tokyo Station, take the JR Sobu Line or the JR Keiyo Line to Chiba Station. Transfer to the JR Uchibo Line and take it to Hota Station. From Hota Station, take a local bus towards Nihon-ji Temple. The bus ride takes approximately 10-15 minutes. Get off at the Nihon-ji Temple bus stop and walk uphill to the Ruri Lookout. Bus fare is approximately ¥300. Train fare from Tokyo to Hota is approximately ¥1,500 - ¥2,000.

  • Car

    From central Sagami, take Route 134 south towards the Kyonan area. Follow signs for Kyonan and then Route 128. Stay on Route 128 until you reach Motona. From there, follow the signs to Nihon-ji Temple. Note that there may be toll roads on the way. Parking is available near the temple, and is free. However, during peak season, parking might be limited.

  • Ropeway

    From Hota Station, it is possible to walk to the Nokogiriyama Ropeway station. A one-way ticket on the ropeway costs ¥950 for adults and ¥550 for children. A round trip ticket costs ¥1600 for adults and ¥900 for children. From the ropeway station at the top, it is a short walk to the Ruri Lookout.
