Overview
Kankakei Ropeway provides access to Kankakei Gorge, a nationally designated scenic beauty and one of Japan's three most stunning valleys. Formed by volcanic activity millions of years ago, the gorge boasts unique rock formations sculpted by wind and rain.The ropeway ascends 312 meters over a length of 917 meters, offering panoramic views of the gorge's sheer cliffs and vibrant seasonal colors. In autumn, the foliage is particularly spectacular. The ride takes about five minutes, transporting visitors to the summit station where they can find cafes, restaurants, gift shops, and viewing platforms.From the summit station, hiking trails lead deeper into the gorge, allowing visitors to explore the unique landscape. The Kankakei area is also part of Setonaikai National Park, emphasizing the importance of preserving its natural beauty.
