Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From Nagiso Station, take the Ontake Kotsu bus bound for Hoshin or Magome. The bus stop is located to the left after exiting the ticket gate. The ride to Tsumago-juku takes approximately 10 minutes. The fare is ¥300, payable in cash upon disembarking through the middle door. Note that credit cards, JR Pass, and IC cards are not accepted. Ensure you have small denominations as change may not be available for large bills.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are available at Nagiso Station. A taxi ride to Tsumago-juku takes around 10 minutes. The estimated fare is ¥4,100-¥5,000.

  • Walking

    From Nagiso Station, it is approximately a 4 km walk to Tsumago-juku, well-signposted along the way. The walk takes around an hour. Follow the signs from Nagiso to Tsumago-juku.

  • Parking

    If driving, there are three paid parking lots available near Tsumago-juku. Parking costs ¥500 per day. Be sure to set your GPS to Parking 1 to avoid accidentally driving into the pedestrian-only main street.
