Forest of Cherry Trees at Moerenuma Park

Getting There

• Public Transport

  To reach the Forest of Cherry Trees using public transport, take the Toho Subway Line to Kanjodori-higashi Station. From there, transfer to the Chuo Bus Higashi 69 or 79 and ride to the Moerenuma Koen Higashi-guchi bus stop. From the bus stop, it's a short walk to the park entrance. Once inside Moerenuma Park, head straight along the main path for about 15 minutes, passing the Glass Pyramid on your left. Continue until you see the 'Forest of Cherry Trees' sign. The bus fare from Kanjodori-higashi Station to Moerenuma Koen Higashi-guchi is approximately ¥240.

• Walking

  From the Moerenuma Park East Entrance, head straight along the main path. Continue walking for about 15 minutes, passing the iconic Glass Pyramid structure on your left. Keep walking until you reach the 'Forest of Cherry Trees' sign, which is located at the northern end of the park near the large grassy area. This walk is approximately 1.5 km and allows you to enjoy the park's scenery along the way. Bicycle rentals are available near the Glass Pyramid for ¥200 for 2 hours if you prefer a faster way to get around the park.

• Car

  To reach the Forest of Cherry Trees by car, drive towards Higashi-ku, the eastern ward of Sapporo. Use a GPS navigation system and enter Moerenuma Park as your destination. Parking is available on-site and is typically free of charge. From the parking area closest to the East Entrance (Moerenuma Koen Azuma parking lot), walk along the main path for about 15 minutes, passing the Glass Pyramid on your left, until you reach the 'Forest of Cherry Trees' sign. Alternatively, you can drive closer to the Glass Pyramid and park in that area, reducing the walking distance.
