Rising 147.2 meters above Odori Park, the Sapporo TV Tower has been an iconic part of Sapporo's skyline since 1957. Designed by Tachu Naito, a renowned architect also known for his work on the Tokyo Tower, the tower initially served as a television signal tower.
Today, the tower's main draw is its observation deck, which sits 90 meters high and provides stunning 360-degree views of Sapporo. Visitors can see Odori Park stretching out below, with the Ishikari Plain and the Sea of Japan visible in the distance on clear days. The tower is particularly popular during the Sapporo Snow Festival in February, offering a unique vantage point of the elaborate snow sculptures.
