Ferry

To reach Inarijinja, first take the Sakurajima Ferry from Kagoshima Port to Sakurajima Port. Ferries depart frequently (every 15-20 minutes during the day) and the ride takes about 15 minutes. The fare is ¥200 for adults. From Sakurajima Port, Inarijinja is accessible by local transportation.
Public Transportation

From Sakurajima Port, you can take the Sakurajima Island View bus or a local bus. The Sakurajima Island View bus operates on a loop around the island, departing every 30 minutes. A one-day pass costs ¥500. Local buses also run along the northern and western coasts of Sakurajima. Check local bus schedules for specific routes and times. From the bus stop, follow local signs to Inarijinja.
Taxi

Taxis are available at Sakurajima Port. A taxi ride to Inarijinja will provide a direct route. Note that taxi availability on Sakurajima may be limited. As of February 2025, there are only two Sakurajima taxis. Using a taxi to tour Sakurajima without stops costs about ¥13,000.
