Car
If you're driving, head towards the city of Kagoshima. From Satsuma, take Route 3 and continue for approximately 30 minutes until you reach Kagoshima. Once you enter Kagoshima, follow the signs for Sengan-en, located at 9700-1 Yoshino-chō, Kagoshima, 892-0871. There is parking available on-site, although a parking fee may be applicable.
Public Transportation (Bus)
For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Satsuma to Kagoshima. Board the bus at the nearest bus stop to your location in Satsuma, and purchase a ticket to Kagoshima. The ride should take about 40-50 minutes. Once in Kagoshima, transfer to the Sengan-en shuttle bus, which operates frequently from the Kagoshima Chuo Station. The shuttle bus will take you directly to Sengan-en and costs around 200 yen.
Public Transportation (Train)
Alternatively, you can take a train from Satsuma to Kagoshima. Board the train at the nearest station in Satsuma, and purchase a ticket to Kagoshima. The train journey takes approximately 30 minutes. After arriving at Kagoshima Station, exit the station and head to the nearby bus terminal. From there, catch the Sengan-en shuttle bus, which will take you directly to the garden for about 200 yen.
