If you're driving, head towards the city of Kagoshima. From Satsuma, take Route 3 south. Continue on this road for about 45 kilometers until you reach Kagoshima City. Once in the city, follow signs for the aquarium, which is located at 3-1 Honkoshinmachi. There is parking available nearby, but be aware that it may incur a fee, typically around 500 yen per hour.

Public Transportation - Train
To reach Kagoshima City Aquarium using public transportation, start by taking the train from Satsuma. Board the Nishi Kyushu Line at Satsuma Station heading to Kagoshima Station. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Kagoshima Station, exit the station and head towards the Kagoshima City Tram stop. Board the tram heading to 'Honkoshinmachi' which will take around 10 minutes. Get off at the Honkoshinmachi stop, and the aquarium will be just a short walk from there. The total cost for this journey is approximately 700 yen.

Alternatively, you can take a bus from Satsuma to Kagoshima City. Look for the bus service that operates between Satsuma and Kagoshima. The bus ride will take around 1 hour. Upon arrival in Kagoshima, you can either walk to the aquarium if you are close, or take a taxi for a short distance. The bus fare is generally around 1000 yen.
