    If you are traveling by car, start from any major city in Shikoku, such as Matsuyama or Takamatsu. Head towards the Shimanami Kaido expressway, which connects Shikoku to Honshu. Follow the expressway and take the exit towards Onomichi. From Onomichi, continue to Takehara City. After reaching Takehara, look for signs that direct you to Ōkunoshima. You will need to park your car at the Takehara Port, where you can then take a ferry to Ōkunoshima. Be aware that parking fees at the port may apply, generally around 500 yen for a day.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, start by taking a train from your location in Shikoku to Mihara Station. You can use the Shikoku Railway Company (JR Shikoku) to reach Mihara. Once you arrive at Mihara Station, transfer to a local bus that goes to Takehara Port. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes and costs around 500 yen. Upon reaching Takehara Port, you can board a ferry to Ōkunoshima. The ferry ride takes about 15 minutes and costs approximately 300 yen each way.
