Public Transport
From Kintetsu Ugata Station, take a taxi to Yokoyama Observatory. The ride is approximately 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can walk from Shima-Yokoyama Station, which is about 2.5 kilometers from the observatory, taking either the Cherry Blossom Route (35 minutes) or the Kinki Nature Trail Route (40 minutes). Taxi fare from Ugata Station is around ¥1,500 - ¥2,000.
Driving
From the Toba Minami-Shiraki IC on the Daini-Ise Road, it's approximately a 25-minute drive to Yokoyama Observatory. Follow Route 167 and turn west at the Yokoyama Kita or Yokoyamaguchi traffic lights, following the 'Cherry blossom route'. Parking is available at the Yokoyama View Point Parking Lot (28 spaces) or the Sozo-no-Mori Parking Lot (50 spaces). Parking is free.

Yokoyama Observatory Deck, located in Shima, Mie Prefecture, is a celebrated vantage point within the Ise-Shima National Park. Perched on Mount Yokoyama, at an altitude of 203 meters, the observatory provides sweeping views of Ago Bay, renowned for its ria coastline dotted with around 60 islands and peninsulas. The bay is also famous for pearl cultivation, and visitors can spot the distinctive pearl rafts weaving through the coastal waters.
The observatory features five wooden decks, each offering unique perspectives of the Ise-Shima National Park. The main deck, Yokoyama Tenku Cafe Terrace, stands at 140 meters and offers a cafe where visitors can enjoy local snacks and drinks while taking in the scenery. Other terraces include Komorebi Terrace, providing a shaded view within the forest, and Soyokaze Terrace, offering a breezy panorama of Ago Bay. The Miharashi Viewpoint, the highest point, provides even more expansive views.
The area around the observatory is designed for easy exploration, with gentle slopes and well-maintained walking paths. The Yokoyama Visitor Center at the foot of the mountain offers exhibits about the natural and cultural history of Ise-Shima National Park.
