To reach Aioi Bridge using public transportation, start by taking the Kintetsu or JR train from Shima to Hiroshima Station. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at Hiroshima Station, transfer to the Hiroshima Tram (Line 1 or Line 2) and get off at the 'Hondori' stop. From there, it's a short 10-minute walk to Aioi Bridge. As of now, the tram fare from Hiroshima Station to Hondori is around 200 yen.
