Car
From Shima, Nakanojo, head northwest on Route 145 towards Nakanojo. Continue for approximately 10 kilometers. You'll find signs directing you to Lake Okushima. Once you see the lake, you can park at designated parking areas nearby. Note that parking may have a fee, usually around 500 yen.
Public Transportation
From Shima, take a bus towards Nakanojo Station. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Once at Nakanojo Station, transfer to the bus heading to Lake Okushima. This bus operates a few times a day, so check the schedule in advance. The ride takes around 20 minutes. The bus fare from Shima to Nakanojo is approximately 500 yen, and from Nakanojo to Lake Okushima is around 400 yen.
Walking
If you choose to walk from the nearest bus stop (Lake Okushima stop), it's about a 15-minute walk to the lake's scenic viewpoints. Follow the paved path that leads you directly to the water's edge, where you can enjoy the beautiful azure blue waters surrounded by forested mountains.
