Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Shima City Center and head towards Route 42. Follow Route 42 for approximately 13 kilometers until you reach Shiroyamacho. Turn left onto Shiroyamacho and continue straight for about 2 kilometers. You will see signs directing you to Mount Shiroyama. There is parking available near the base of the mountain. Note that parking may incur a small fee, typically around 500 yen.
Public Transportation
To reach Mount Shiroyama via public transportation, start by taking the local bus from Shima City Center to Kagoshima City. The bus ride takes about 45 minutes and costs approximately 1,000 yen. Once you arrive at Kagoshima City, transfer to the city bus heading towards Shiroyamacho. This bus ride will take an additional 20 minutes and cost around 300 yen. Get off at the Shiroyamacho bus stop, from where you can walk approximately 15 minutes to reach the base of Mount Shiroyama.
Taxi
For a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from Shima City Center. The taxi ride will take approximately 30 minutes and cost around 4,000 to 5,000 yen, depending on traffic. Just inform the driver that you want to go to Mount Shiroyama, and they will take you directly to the entrance.
