Public Transport

From Sano Station (JR Ryomo Line and Tobu Sano Line), take the Meisui Akami Line bus towards Sakura no Sato. Get off at the Akami Onsen Bus Stop, from which Izuruhara Benten Pond is a short walk. Bus fare is approximately ¥400.
Car

From the center of Shimotsuke, head north on Route 50. Continue for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach the Sano area. Look for signs for Izuruhara Benten Pond. Turn left onto Izuruharacho and follow the signs. Parking is available nearby, and may incur a small fee. Parking fees range from ¥300-500 per day.

Nearby, the Isoyama Benzaiten Shrine, with a history spanning over 1,000 years, stands as a testament to traditional Japanese architecture, constructed without the use of nails. Reconstructed in the Kamakura period (1185-1333), the shrine is dedicated to Isoyama Benzaiten, one of the seven lucky Sano gods built here in 948.Visitors to Izuruhara Benten Pond can admire the vibrant koi fish gracefully swimming among the swaying water plants in the transparent waters.
