Car
If you're driving in Shimotsuke, head towards the Nikko area. From the center of Shimotsuke, take Route 4 North towards Nikko. Continue on Route 4 for approximately 20 km. Once you reach the intersection near Lake Chuzenji, follow the signs for Nikko City. After entering Nikko, keep straight on Sannai Street for about 1 km. The Nitenmon Gate will be on your right, located at 2300 Sannai, Nikko.
Public Transportation
To reach Nitenmon Gate using public transportation, start at Shimotsuke station. Take the train on the Tobu Nikko Line towards Tobu-Nikko Station. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Tobu-Nikko Station, exit the station and head to the bus terminal. Take the bus heading towards Lake Chuzenji or the bus for Nikko City. Get off at the Sannai bus stop. From there, walk about 10 minutes north along Sannai Street, and you will find the Nitenmon Gate at 2300 Sannai.
