If you're traveling by car, start your journey from the center of Suō. Head southeast on Route 188 towards the city of Yamaguchi. After approximately 15 kilometers, merge onto the Sanyo Expressway (E2). Follow the expressway for about 80 kilometers, then take the exit toward Route 2, following signs for Tokyo. Continue on Route 2, which will lead you directly into Kita City. Use a GPS for the most accurate directions. Once in Kita City, follow local signs to Asukayama Park, located at 1 Chome-1-3 Oji, Kita City, Tokyo 114-0002. There is parking available near the park, but note that parking fees may apply, typically around ¥500 for a few hours.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start by heading to the nearest train station in Suō, such as Suōōshima Station. Board a train on the JR Line heading toward Tokyo. You will need to transfer at Tokyo Station to the JR Keihin-Tohoku Line. From there, take the train to Oji Station, which is approximately a 30-minute ride. Upon arriving at Oji Station, exit the station and walk west for about 10 minutes to reach Asukayama Park. Be sure to check the current train schedules, as they may vary. The total cost for the train fare will be around ¥1,500 to ¥2,000 depending on the time of day and specific routes chosen.
