Getting There

    If you are driving from Suruga, take National Route 1 heading north toward Ashikaga. Continue on this route for approximately 30 kilometers (about 40 minutes). As you approach Ashikaga, watch for signs for Banna-ji, located at 2220 Ietomicho, Ashikaga, Tochigi. There is parking available near the temple, but be mindful of any parking fees that may apply.

  • By Train

    From Suruga Station, take the Tōbu Isesaki Line toward Tōbu Ashikaga Station. The train ride will take approximately 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Tōbu Ashikaga Station, exit the station and walk toward the main road. It is about a 15-minute walk to Banna-ji. Follow the street signs directing you toward Ietomicho, and you will arrive at the temple located at 2220 Ietomicho.

  • By Bus

    You can also take a local bus from Ashikaga Station. Board the bus heading towards Ietomicho and disembark at the Banna-ji bus stop. The bus ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes and the bus fare is usually around 200 yen. From the bus stop, it’s a short walk to the temple entrance.
