Getting There

Car
If you are driving from central Tajima, take Route 178 towards the south. Continue on this road for about 20 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 28. Take the exit for Route 28 towards Kamakura. After about 25 kilometers, you will see signs for Hokokuji Temple. Follow the signs, and the temple will be on your right at 2 Chome-7-4 Jomyoji, Kamakura, Kanagawa. Note that parking is available near the temple but may incur a fee of around 500 yen.

Public Transportation (Train)
From Tajima Station, take the JR Line towards Kamakura. This journey will take approximately 1 hour. Disembark at Kamakura Station. From Kamakura Station, transfer to the Enoshima Electric Railway (Enoden) and take the train towards Fujisawa. Get off at Jomyoji Station. From Jomyoji Station, it is about a 10-minute walk to Hokokuji Temple. Follow the signs or use a map app for precise directions. The train fare is approximately 700 yen one way.

From Tajima, take a local bus to Kamakura Station. Upon arriving at Kamakura Station, you can board a bus that goes directly to Hokokuji Temple. The bus ride will take around 20 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule as they may not run frequently. The bus fare is typically around 300 yen. After disembarking, follow the signs to Hokokuji Temple, which is about a 5-minute walk from the bus stop.
