Car
If you are driving from central Tajima, take Route 1 south towards Kamakura. After approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, follow the signs for Kamakura and take the exit for Hase. Once you exit, turn left onto Hase Street. Continue straight for about 10 minutes until you reach Kotoku-in, which is located at 4 Chome-2-28 Hase. There is parking available nearby, but it may incur a fee of around 500 yen for a few hours.
Train
For those using public transportation, head to Tajima Station and take the JR Tōkai Line to Kamakura Station. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once at Kamakura Station, exit the station and follow the signs to the Enoden Line. Board the Enoden Line train towards Hase Station. The ride takes about 5 minutes. After arriving at Hase Station, exit the station and walk approximately 10 minutes to Kotoku-in, following the signs. There is no entrance fee for the temple.
Bus
You can also take a local bus from Tajima to Kamakura. Look for a bus bound for Kamakura which departs from the main bus terminal. The bus ride may take around 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Kamakura, switch to a local bus that goes towards Hase. This bus ride will take an additional 15 minutes. Alight at the 'Hase' stop, and you will be just a short 5-minute walk to Kotoku-in. The total fare for the bus trip is approximately 1,000 yen.
