Public Transport
To reach Gionji Temple via public transport, start at Shinjuku Station and take the Keio Line to Chofu Station. From Chofu Station, take bus No. 34 from bus stop #14 at the central exit, bound for "Jindaiji". Get off at the Gionji Temple bus stop. The bus ride is approximately 15 minutes. The fare for the bus is ¥210 for adults. Alternatively, from Chofu Station North Exit, take a bus bound for 'Sazumachi 2-chome'. Get off at the Gionji Temple bus stop, from where it is a 5-minute walk to the temple.
Walking
From Chofu Station, it is approximately a 30-minute walk to Gionji Temple. Exit the station and walk southeast on Sazumachi Street. Continue straight, following signs for Gionji Temple. The temple will be on your right at 2 Chome−18−1 Sazumachi.
Taxi
Taxis are available from Chofu Station to Gionji Temple. The taxi ride is relatively short. The estimated fare for a short taxi trip in Tokyo starts at ¥500-¥750. The fare increases based on distance and time, with an additional ¥90 for each 280 meters. Note that fares may increase by 20% between 10 PM and 5 AM.
