Discover more about GODZILLA ROAD

Located in Kabukicho, Shinjuku, the Godzilla Head is a must-see for tourists and Godzilla fans alike. This iconic sculpture is perched on the 8th-floor terrace of the Shinjuku Toho Building, home to the Hotel Gracery Shinjuku. The Godzilla Head was installed in April 2015 to celebrate the anniversary of Godzilla's first appearance in 1954 and the opening of the Toho Building. The head, inspired by the 1992 film "Godzilla vs. Mothra," weighs 80 tons and stands 12 meters tall. From the street, the head appears to loom over the city, recreating memorable scenes from the original film. The head also comes to life at regular intervals. Between noon and 8 PM, on the hour, the monster awakens, its eyes glow red, it roars, and white smoke and blue lightning effects recreate the terrifying atmosphere of the films. To get a closer look, visitors can access the terrace through the Hotel Gracery Shinjuku or by visiting the Bonjour Café. The hotel also offers Godzilla-themed rooms for die-hard fans.
