Getting There

  • Train

    From Tokyo Station, take the JR Yokosuka Line towards Zushi. The journey takes approximately 50 minutes. Get off at Kamakura Station. Once you arrive, exit the station and head towards the East Exit. From there, you can either walk to Hongaku-ji or take a bus.

  • Walking

    If you choose to walk from Kamakura Station, exit the station and head east on Komachi Street. The temple is about a 15-minute walk from the station. Keep straight on Komachi Street, and you'll see signs directing you to Hongaku-ji. The address is 1 Chome-12-12 Komachi, Kamakura, Kanagawa 248-0006.

  • Bus

    From Kamakura Station, you can also take a bus. Look for the bus stop outside the East Exit and take a bus that goes towards Hase or Yuigahama. Get off at the Komachi-dori stop; from there, it's a short walk to Hongaku-ji, following the signs. This option takes about 5-10 minutes depending on traffic.
