Getting There

  • Walking

    Samurai Armor Photo Studio is located in Maruyamacho, Shibuya. From Shibuya Station, walk towards the Tokyu Department Store and continue straight. Pass the Shibuya 109 building on your left and continue up the hill. Turn right at the first major intersection. Walk straight for about 5 minutes, and the King Bldg. will be on your left. The studio is on the 7th floor. The walk is approximately 10 minutes.

  • Public Transport

    Take the Keio Inokashira Line to Shinsen Station, which is one stop from Shibuya. From Shinsen Station, it is a 3-minute walk to the studio. Exit the station and walk straight. Turn right at the first corner, then turn left at the next corner. The King Bldg. will be on your right, and the studio is on the 7th floor. A single fare is between ¥100-¥130.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are readily available from Shibuya Station. The ride to Maruyamacho takes approximately 1 minute and costs between ¥1,000 and ¥1,300. Be sure to provide the full address to the driver: 〒150-0044 Tokyo, Shibuya, Maruyamacho, ５丁目6, | King Bldg. 7F.

Visitors can choose from several kacchu suits, replicas of those worn by famous samurai like Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Each suit is crafted by professional armor craftsmen using the same materials and techniques as in the past. A professional Kacchu dresser will assist in putting on the armor, which can take around 15 minutes. The studio provides a glimpse into the samurai's history, their code of honor (Bushido), and the evolution of their armor. Once suited up, guests can pose with traditional samurai weapons like katana and yari (spear) in a specially prepared studio. Professional photographers guide guests through dynamic poses, capturing memorable photos. For a more adventurous experience, the Shibuya Street Shooting Course allows you to wear the armor while walking through the streets of Shibuya.
