Located in the heart of Setagaya City, the Setagaya Public Theatre is a prominent cultural institution that serves as a hub for performing arts. The theater is located in the 26-story Carrot Tower, a major city development that opened in April 1997. It aims to produce and present high-quality performing arts productions, especially contemporary drama and dance by both national and international artists.The theater has two performance spaces: the main 600-seat Setagaya Public Theatre and the smaller 218-seat Theatre Tram. In addition to the two performance spaces, the theater also has rehearsal rooms, workshops, and sound studios. The Setagaya Public Theatre is a non-profit theater funded by the city of Setagaya. Since 2002, Mansai Nomura has served as the artistic director. The Setagaya Public Theatre also holds creative workshops and outreach programs to schools in the Setagaya area.Visitors can enjoy a variety of performances and explore Setagaya, a charming Tokyo neighborhood with cafes, shops and parks.
