The Giant 3D Cat

Located near the east exit of Shinjuku Station, the Giant 3D Cat has become a popular attraction since its debut in July 2021. The billboard is on the Cross Shinjuku Vision building and spans three floors, using advanced technology to create a mesmerizing 3D effect. The giant calico cat is displayed on a curved LED screen that measures approximately 150 square meters and is accompanied by speakers for audio effects. The cat's behavior changes throughout the day, with animations showing it yawning, napping, and playfully interacting with its environment. The 3D effect is particularly striking due to the curved nature of the LED screen, creating an illusion of depth that makes the cat appear to loom over the street. The cat is a male calico cat, which is rare since calico cats are almost exclusively female. The cat also has a black-colored pattern that is shaped like Shinjuku Ward as a reminder that one can meet the cat when visiting Shinjuku.
