Tokyo Big Sight (東京ビッグサイト), officially known as the Tokyo International Exhibition Center (東京国際展示場), is the premier convention and exhibition center in Japan. Opened in April 1996, it is situated in the Ariake Minami district of Tokyo Waterfront City on Tokyo Bay. Its most iconic feature is the visually distinctive Conference Tower, composed of four inverted pyramids mounted on supports. With a total floor area of 230,873 square meters, approximately 35% of which is indoors, Tokyo Big Sight is equipped to host a wide variety of events. These range from industry trade fairs like the Nanotech Expo to cultural events such as the Comiket convention and AnimeJapan. The venue is divided into several main areas: the Conference Tower, East Exhibition Halls, West Exhibition Halls, and South Exhibition Halls. The grounds also feature seven modern art installations. The eight-story Conference Tower is the architectural centerpiece, featuring a reception hall that seats 1,100 people and 22 conference rooms. The East and West Exhibition Halls provide extensive space for exhibitions and trade shows, while the South Exhibition Halls offer additional modern exhibition space. Tokyo Big Sight is easily accessible by public transportation, with two nearby stations: Tokyo Big Sight Station (Yurikamome Line) and Kokusai-Tenjijo Station (Rinkai Line).
