Discover more about Tsutaya Books Daikan-yama

Tsutaya Books Daikan-yama, also known as Daikanyama T-SITE, is a unique bookstore located in the upscale Daikanyama district of Shibuya, Tokyo. Designed by Klein Dytham Architecture (KDa), the complex opened in 2011 and has since been celebrated as one of the world's most beautiful bookstores. The design concept is a "library in a forest", with three low-slung pavilions connected by a "magazine street", blurring the lines between interior and exterior spaces. The T-shaped motifs throughout the building subtly reflect Tsutaya's logo. Inside, you'll find a carefully curated selection of books, music, movies, and stationery, catering to a sophisticated clientele. The bookstore is divided into six specialized areas, including humanities, literature, art, architecture, motor vehicles, cooking, and travel. In addition to the bookstore, Daikanyama T-SITE features a cafe (Starbucks) and a lounge (Anjin) where visitors can enjoy a drink or meal while reading. The complex aims to offer a lifestyle experience, with concierges available to guide visitors through the selection of books, music, and movies.
