Discover more about Sukiyabashi Park

Sukiyabashi Park, located in the heart of Ginza, is a small urban oasis offering respite from the surrounding bustling metropolis. The park's meticulously arranged flower beds, ornamental trees, and quiet seating areas create a serene environment for relaxation and reflection. Historically, the park marks the former location of the Sukiyabashi Bridge, which was built in 1629 as part of the outer wall of Edo Castle. The bridge gained fame from a radio drama in 1952. The bridge was removed in 1958 when the outer moat was reclaimed. A monument within the park commemorates the bridge's historical presence. Today, Sukiyabashi Park serves as a gathering place for both locals and tourists. Its proximity to Ginza's major shopping areas and cultural landmarks makes it a seamless transition from the city's vibrant energy to a tranquil natural setting. The park also features a copper sculpture called "Lighthouse", created by sculptor Seibo Kitamura, as a memorial to the Great Kanto Earthquake.
