Getting There

  • Subway

    If you're in central Tokyo, you can take the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line. Board the train at a station like Tokyo Station or Shinjuku Station. If you're at Tokyo Station, take the Chiyoda Line towards Yoyogi Uehara. If you're at Shinjuku Station, take the Chiyoda Line towards Naka-Okachimachi. Get off at Yushima Station (2 stops from Tokyo Station, 4 stops from Shinjuku Station). Upon exiting the station, use Exit 1. Once you are on the street, turn left and walk straight for about 5 minutes until you reach Yushima Shrine, located at 3 Chome-30-1 Yushima, Bunkyo City.

  • Bus

    From Tokyo Station, head to the Marunouchi North Exit. Look for the bus stop for the 'Toei Bus' (都営バス). You can take the Toei Bus route 'Bunkyo 63' or 'Bunkyo 43'. Both routes have stops near Yushima Shrine. Ride the bus for about 15 minutes and get off at the 'Yushima Tenjin' stop. After getting off, walk about 3 minutes south along the main road, and you'll reach Yushima Shrine.

    If you find yourself near Ueno Park, you can walk to Yushima Shrine. From the park, exit towards the Ueno Station area, then walk south along the main road. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with the Yushima area. It should take approximately 15-20 minutes on foot. Yushima Shrine will be located on your right at 3 Chome-30-1 Yushima, Bunkyo City.
