    Getting There

    Public Transport

    To reach Onoaida Lighthouse via public transportation, take a local bus from Yakushima Airport or the main ferry terminal towards Onoaida. The bus ride takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Alight at the Onoaida bus stop, then walk about 15 minutes following the signs to the lighthouse. Bus fares can be purchased as unlimited ride passes for 1,000 yen (one day) to 4,000 yen (four days).

    Walking

    If you are already in the Onoaida area, the lighthouse is accessible by foot. From the Onoaida bus stop, head southwest on Onoaida Road. Follow the road as it curves towards the coast. The lighthouse will be visible as you approach. The walk should take about 15 minutes.

    Car

    If driving, head towards Onoaida from Yakushima Airport or the main ferry terminal via Route 7 (Yakushima Route). Follow signs for Onoaida, a journey of approximately 30 minutes. Continue on Onoaida Road until you reach the lighthouse. Parking is available near the lighthouse. Car rentals are available at Miyanoura Port and Yakushima Airport. Expect to pay around 4,000 yen per day for a small car.
