    Getting There

    Walking

    From Zao Onsen Station, take the main road towards the Zao Onsen hot springs area. After approximately 15 minutes of walking, you will reach a fork in the road. Keep to the left, and continue walking for another 10 minutes. You will start to see signs for 懺悔坂 (Zangezaka). Follow these signs, which will guide you through a picturesque area, until you reach the location at 2301 990 Zaoonsen, Yamagata.

    Car

    If you are driving, start from Zao Onsen and head southwest on Route 13. Follow the signs towards Zao Onsen. After about 10 minutes, you will reach a small parking area near 懺悔坂. Please note that parking may incur a fee, depending on the season and the time of day. Once parked, it is a short 5-minute walk to the location.

    Public Transportation

    If you prefer public transportation, take a local bus from Zao Onsen Station towards Zao Sanroku. The bus runs approximately every 30 minutes and takes about 10 minutes to reach the nearest stop to 懺悔坂. Once you get off, walk south for approximately 5 minutes, and you will arrive at your destination. A bus fare of around 200 yen is expected.
