Discover more about Victoria Tower

Victoria Tower, located in Jersey, is a Martello tower completed in 1837 and named in honor of Queen Victoria. The tower sits on Le Mont Nicholas in Saint Martin, offering outstanding views of Jersey's east coast with the Norman coast as a backdrop. Built by the British, the tower's original purpose was to prevent enemy landings at Anne Port and restrict access to Mont Saint Nicolas, thereby protecting Mont Orgueil Castle. The tower is the only Martello tower in Jersey that has a ditch surrounding it. During the Second World War, the German forces modified the tower and the surrounding area became a German strongpoint. Today, the National Trust for Jersey administers the tower. Visitors can explore the tower grounds and enjoy the scenery.
