Howard Davis Park: A Green Oasis in St. Helier

Howard Davis Park is a verdant retreat in the heart of St. Helier, gifted to the people of Jersey in 1939 by T.B. Davis in memory of his son, Howard Leopold Davis, who died in World War I. The park spans 10 acres and features well-manicured lawns, vibrant flower beds, and a variety of trees and shrubs. The park's formal gardens showcase seasonal blooms, providing a picturesque setting for visitors. A charming bandstand hosts concerts and community events during the summer months. The Jersey War Graves Cemetery, located near St. Luke's Church, contains the graves of British and Allied servicemen killed in World War II, adding a historical element to the serene surroundings. The cemetery was created in November 1943 as a resting place for members of the Allied Forces. Visitors can explore ornamental ponds, sculptures, and hidden corners throughout the park. A café offers refreshments, and a children's play area makes it a family-friendly destination. The Howard Davis Hall, which contains portraits and memorabilia, is occasionally open to the public. Paid parking is available nearby in the Route du Fort Car Park. The park is wheelchair-friendly and offers accessible facilities.
