By Car
From Azraq Castle, start by heading southwest on the main road (Route 30) towards the town of Azraq. Continue for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 15. Turn left onto Route 15 and drive south for about 70 kilometers. You will pass through the towns of Al Jafr and then continue towards Wadi Rum. Look for signs for Wadi Rum Protected Area. Once you arrive at the entrance, there may be an entrance fee (check locally for current rates). The total driving time will be around 1.5 to 2 hours.
By Bus
From Azraq Castle, you can catch a bus heading to the city of Ma'an. You will need to reach the Azraq bus station first, which is a short taxi ride away. Once at the bus station, find a bus going to Ma'an (buses run fairly frequently). The journey to Ma'an takes approximately 1 hour. Upon arrival in Ma'an, you will need to find a taxi or a local minibus that goes to Wadi Rum Protected Area. The taxi ride from Ma'an to Wadi Rum will take about 30 minutes. Be prepared for taxi fares; confirm the price before starting your journey.
Shared Taxi
You can also opt for a shared taxi, which is a quicker option. From Azraq Castle, take a short taxi ride to the nearest major road where shared taxis frequently pass. Look for a shared taxi heading to Wadi Rum or to Ma'an. The cost will be shared among passengers, making it a budget-friendly choice. Once you reach Wadi Rum, you might need to pay an entrance fee at the protected area. The total travel time by shared taxi will be approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the number of passengers.
