Car
If you are traveling by car, start from any location in Badia and head towards Wadi Musa. From the center of Wadi Musa, follow signs towards Petra. You will reach a parking area near the entrance to Petra. Parking fees typically range from 5 to 10 Jordanian Dinars (JOD) per day. After parking, walk towards the main entrance of Petra and purchase your ticket, which may vary in price based on nationality and the duration of your stay (approximately 50 JOD for a single day entry). Once inside, follow the main path leading to Al-Siq, which is easily marked and will take around 30-40 minutes to reach on foot.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a bus or shared taxi from major towns in Jordan, such as Amman or Aqaba, to Wadi Musa. The bus fare is usually around 10-15 JOD and the journey takes approximately 3-4 hours. Once you arrive in Wadi Musa, you will find local taxis or shuttles that can take you to the Petra entrance. The fare for a taxi from the town center to the entrance is about 2 JOD. After reaching the entrance, purchase your ticket (around 50 JOD for a single day entry) and proceed to walk towards Al-Siq. The walk will take approximately 30-40 minutes along a well-marked path.
