Car
If you are driving, start from the center of Badia and head towards the main road leading to Petra. Follow the signs directing you to Petra, which is approximately a 2-hour drive. Once you reach the visitor center of Petra, you will need to park your car there (parking fees may apply, typically around 5 JD). After parking, proceed to the entrance of Petra on foot.
Public Transportation
To reach The Monastery using public transportation, take a bus or shared taxi from Badia to Petra. Buses operate regularly and the fare is usually around 3 JD. Upon arrival at Petra, you will have to walk to the entrance. From the entrance, it is a hike to The Monastery, which takes about 1.5 to 2 hours on foot. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water.
Walking
Once you are inside Petra, follow the main trail leading to The Monastery. The path is well-marked, and you will pass other significant sites like the Siq and the Treasury on your way. Keep an eye out for signs indicating directions to The Monastery. The hike is steep in some areas, so be prepared for a rigorous walk.
