Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest city in Badia, such as Ma'an or Aqaba. From Ma'an, take the Desert Highway (Route 15) heading south. Continue for about 60 km until you reach the Wadi Rum Village turn-off. Follow the signs towards Wadi Rum Village, then drive into the village. There is a parking area where you can leave your car. Note that a small entrance fee is required to enter the Wadi Rum Protected Area.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can catch a bus from major cities such as Petra or Aqaba to the Wadi Rum Village. Look for the bus heading towards Wadi Rum, which typically departs from the main bus station. The journey may take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon arrival at Wadi Rum Village, you can hire a local jeep or camel to take you into the protected area. Be prepared for additional costs for these services, which can vary depending on the length of your tour.
Taxi
Alternatively, you can take a taxi from nearby cities such as Aqaba or Petra directly to Wadi Rum Village. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey. The taxi ride from Aqaba will take approximately 1 hour and may cost around 30-40 JOD. Once you arrive in Wadi Rum Village, similar to public transportation, you will need to hire a local jeep or camel for the exploration of the protected area.
