Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, you can reach Dana Biosphere Reserve from various locations in the Eastern Highlands. From Petra, take the Desert Highway (Route 15) heading north for about 35 km. At the Ma'an Junction, turn right onto Route 35. Follow the signs for Dana, which will lead you into the reserve. The entrance is clearly marked. Ensure that your car is in good condition, as the roads can be winding and steep in some areas.

Public Transportation

For those relying on public transportation, you can take a bus from Petra to Ma'an. Buses leave regularly from Petra's bus station, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Ma'an, you will need to catch a taxi or a local minibus to Dana. Taxis are available at the bus station and typically charge around 10-15 JOD for the ride to Dana Biosphere Reserve. Make sure to negotiate the price before starting your journey.

Walking

If you are already within the Dana area and wish to explore further, you can walk various trails within the reserve. However, ensure you have appropriate footwear and plenty of water, as some trails can be steep and strenuous.
