Getting There

Walking
Starting from the Jerash Archaeological Museum, head south towards the main entrance of the Jerash archaeological site. Once you reach the entrance, pay your entry fee and proceed into the site. Walk straight along the main colonnaded street, known as the Cardo Maximus, which is lined with ancient columns. Continue walking until you reach the Temple of Artemis, which will be on your left. From the Temple of Artemis, turn to your right and follow the path leading uphill towards the Temple of Zeus. The temple is situated on a hill overlooking the entire site, so you will have a short climb. Once you reach the top, you will find the spectacular Temple of Zeus, a magnificent historical landmark.

If you are starting from the Oval Plaza, walk north towards the Temple of Artemis, which is located at the end of the plaza. From the Temple of Artemis, turn right and follow the signs leading to the Temple of Zeus. The path will take you uphill, where you’ll encounter the remains of ancient structures along the way. The Temple of Zeus is prominently located at the top, providing a stunning view of Jerash and the surrounding area.

From the Hippodrome, head towards the main entrance of the archaeological site, then continue straight along the colonnaded street. Once you reach the Temple of Artemis, turn right and ascend the hill following the path to the Temple of Zeus. The hike is short but involves some elevation gain, so make sure to take your time. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the impressive ruins of the Temple of Zeus.
