Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the Jerash city center, start your journey by heading northeast towards the main entrance of the Jerash Archaeological Park. Look for signs pointing to the park as you walk along the main street. Once you reach the park entrance, enter and continue forward, following the path that leads into the site. As you walk through the ruins, keep an eye out for the Hippodrome, which is located towards the southern part of the archaeological area. It is a short walk from the Temple of Artemis. Look for the large oval structure that once hosted chariot races, and you will find the Hippodrome.

    If you are starting from the Jerash Archaeological Museum, exit the museum and walk south down the main path. Continue walking straight, passing the Temple of Zeus on your right. After a few minutes, you will see the entrance to the Hippodrome on your left. Follow the signs leading to the Hippodrome entrance, where you can explore this ancient site.

    From the North Gate of the archaeological site, head south along the main avenue, known as the Cardo Maximus. You will walk amongst impressive columns and ruins.
