Getting There

Walking
From the center of Ma'an, head north on King Abdullah II Street. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the Ma'an Bus Station. From here, follow the signs to the Petra Bus that departs regularly to Petra. After approximately 30 minutes, you will arrive at the Petra Visitor Center. Once you exit the bus, take the path leading to the entrance of the archaeological site, where you will find signs directing you to Ad-Dayr. Continue walking for about 2 kilometers along the main path, which will take you through the stunning rock formations until you reach Ad-Dayr, also known as the Monastery.

Taxi
If you prefer not to walk, you can catch a local taxi from the center of Ma'an. Taxis are available near the Ma'an Bus Station. Tell the driver you want to go to Petra. The drive will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Petra Visitor Center, follow the pedestrian path towards the entrance of the archaeological site, where you will see signs leading to Ad-Dayr. It is a 2-kilometer walk from the entrance to reach Ad-Dayr.
