From the main entrance of Petra, walk towards the Siq, the narrow gorge that leads into the city. As you exit the Siq, you will arrive at the Treasury, one of Petra's most famous landmarks. Take some time to enjoy the view before proceeding. From the Treasury, continue walking straight until you reach the main path leading uphill towards the Monastery (Ad Deir). Follow this path, which is well-marked and lined with steps. The hike to the Monastery takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Once you reach the Monastery, take some time to enjoy the stunning architecture and surrounding views. To reach the picturesque view, continue uphill from the Monastery for about 10-15 minutes to a viewpoint that offers spectacular panoramic views of Petra and the surrounding landscape.

Alternatively, after visiting the Treasury, you can take the path to the High Place of Sacrifice. Follow the signs leading to the High Place of Sacrifice from the Treasury. The trail is steep and may take about 30-40 minutes to reach the top. Once you arrive, enjoy the breathtaking views of the entire Petra valley. This location is known for offering some of the best vistas of Petra. To get to the picturesque view from here, you'll want to head towards the viewpoint located at coordinates 30.3424738, 35.4650075, which is about a 10-15 minute walk from the High Place of Sacrifice.
