Car
If you are driving from any location in Wadi Araba, head towards the main road (Route 15) that leads to Petra. Follow the signs for Petra. Once you reach the Wadi Musa area, look for the signs indicating Al-Siq. The entrance to Al-Siq is located near Petra Visitor Center. There is a parking area available, but be prepared to pay a parking fee, which can vary but is generally around 2-5 JOD per day.
Public Transportation
To reach Al-Siq using public transportation, catch a bus or shared taxi (known as ‘service’) heading towards Petra from any major town in Wadi Araba, such as Aqaba or Ma'an. The fare will typically be around 5-10 JOD. Make sure to inform the driver that you are going to Petra. The bus will drop you off at the Petra Visitor Center, from where it is a short walk to the entrance of Al-Siq. Remember to check the bus schedule for return times to avoid being stranded.
Tour Operator
Consider booking a guided tour that includes transportation to Petra. Many tour companies in Wadi Araba offer packages that provide a guided experience, including transport from your hotel or main location in Wadi Araba to Al-Siq. Prices for these tours vary widely but typically start around 30 JOD per person, which includes both transportation and a guide.
