Getting There

• Car

  From any location in Eastern Kansas, drive towards US-56 W. If you're starting near Lawrence, take I-70 W and exit onto US-56 W at the exit for US-81 S toward Salina. Continue on US-56 W until you reach the junction with KS-141. Turn left onto KS-141 S and follow the road until you reach Marquette. Once in Marquette, follow the signs to Horsethief Rd. Turn onto Horsethief Rd, and Kanopolis Lake State Park will be located at 200 Horsethief Rd, Marquette, KS 67464.

• Public Transportation

  Public transportation options are limited in this area. However, you can take a Greyhound bus to Salina. From Salina, you will need to use a taxi or rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to reach Kanopolis Lake State Park. The distance from Salina to the park is approximately 30 miles, and taxi fares may vary but expect to pay around $40-$60 for this trip.

• Biking

  For the adventurous, biking from Marquette can be a great way to enjoy the scenery. If you're already in Marquette, head south on KS-141, then turn onto Horsethief Rd to reach the park. Be cautious of traffic, and consider bringing a bike lock to secure your bike while you explore the park.

• Walking

  If you're staying in Marquette and only a short distance from Kanopolis Lake State Park, walking is an option.
