Car
If you are traveling by car, start by getting on I-70 E from your location in Eastern Kansas. Continue on I-70 E for approximately 30 miles. Take exit 403B for I-635 N towards Kansas City. Stay on I-635 N for about 12 miles, then take exit 1A for US-169 N toward I-70 N. Merge onto US-169 N and continue for about 3 miles. Take the exit toward Shawnee Rd, and then turn left onto Shawnee Rd. Continue on Shawnee Rd for about 1 mile, and Sauer Castle will be on your right at 935 Shawnee Rd, Kansas City, KS 66103. There is no parking fee, but be mindful of street parking regulations.
Public Transportation
If you prefer to use public transportation, you can take the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) bus service. Locate the nearest bus stop for the Route 101 or Route 106, which services the area around Kansas City. Board the bus heading towards downtown Kansas City. Transfer to the Route 25 bus at the downtown transit center which heads towards Shawnee Rd. Get off at the Shawnee Rd stop. From there, it's about a 10-minute walk to Sauer Castle, located at 935 Shawnee Rd. Be aware that bus fares are typically around $1.50 per ride, and you may need to purchase a day pass if you plan multiple trips.
