Walking
If you are starting from downtown Lawrence, head east on Massachusetts Street. Continue walking for about 0.5 miles until you reach 9th Street. Turn left onto 9th Street and keep going until you reach the intersection with New Hampshire Street. Turn right onto New Hampshire Street and walk for another 0.7 miles until you reach the Lawrence Public Library on the left. From the library, continue straight on New Hampshire Street until you reach the intersection with 6th Street. Here, you can catch the public bus, or you can continue walking straight. If you choose to walk, head east on 6th Street for about 1.5 miles, then turn left onto Haskell Avenue. The Salem Maritime National Historic Site is located at the intersection of Haskell Avenue and 6th Street.
Bus
From downtown Lawrence, walk to the nearest bus stop on Massachusetts Street. Take the Lawrence Transit System bus, route 6, towards the East Hills Business Park. Ride the bus for about 15 minutes until you reach the stop at 6th and Haskell. From there, it’s a short walk to the Salem Maritime National Historic Site. Head east on 6th Street, and then turn left onto Haskell Avenue. The site will be on your right.
Bicycle
If you are renting a bicycle, start at the downtown area and head east on Massachusetts Street. Continue straight until you reach 9th Street, then turn left. Cycle along 9th Street until you reach New Hampshire Street and turn right. Keep going until you reach 6th Street. Turn left on 6th Street and cycle for about 1.5 miles. When you reach Haskell Avenue, turn left, and you will find the Salem Maritime National Historic Site shortly after.
